eID or electronic id
In Belgium everybody has an electronic ID or eID-card. At the moment there a three versions of this eID card:
- eID: the identity card for every Belgian of 12 years and older
- kids-eID: id for kids younger than 12
- foreigner card: eID for foreigners residing in Belgium

eID offers a lot of possibilities:

- securing Windows applications
- visitor registration at an event
- autocompleting forms with eID data

Digital signature with the eID
With the eID you can digitally sign an electronic document.
Arcabase eID platform - toolkit
Arcabase developed a platform for the use of eID in applications.
The toolkit gives the possibility to integrate electronic signatures and access control to websites.
Custom Smart Cards
The eID framework can also be adapted to work with custom smart cards.
